New Delhi: Though many of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders question the loyalty of Indian Muslims towards the country every now and then, the party's member in Rajya Sabha Subramanian Swamy Tuesday said Asaududdin Owaisi's integrity and patriotism are beyond doubt.
"We might have political differences over some issues. But, patriotism of Asaduddin Owaisi is beyond any doubt and can't be questioned", Swamy said.
Swamy's 'endorsement' for Asaduddin Owaisi, Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief came during a TV debate 'Agenda Aajtak'.
The two political rivals however on other issues took potshots at each other during the debate which was also participated by senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.
Owaisi and Digvijaya Singh while questioning the motives behind demonetisation said the move has left poor struggling and warned that situation is likely to worsen in coming days. The two leaders also raised doubts that currency ban will check corruption and fake currency racket.
There was a huge round of applause when Owaisi returned Swamy's barb against him over Prime Minister Modi with the latter's regular tirade against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
It is second time in the last two weeks when Owaisi and Swamy shared stage and took potshots over each other.
On November 26, Owaisi while debating at Times LitFest in New Delhi left Subramanian Swamy struggling for answers and the organisers to conclude that the AIMIM leader was more reasonable and scored higher than the Saffron party's firebrand ideologue.
"If one were to score the debate, however, it would seem Owaisi scored higher, as he was more reasonable and backed his arguments a lot better than Swamy did", according to media reports.
