Mumbai: Confusion prevailed over the Mumbai University results Saturday as some media reports claimed that the pending results will be declared today but others said the university will miss the deadline again.
Multiple reports have claimed that the Mumbai University will declare online the Final Year results today i.e. Saturday August 05, 2017 on its official website mu.ac.in.
"Mumbai University is likely to release the results for the final year examinations today, August 5, 2017. Candidates from various streams who have appeared for the final year papers can check their results on the official website once it has been made available", Indian Express said.
Another leadeing newspaper however said that Mumbai University is not in a position to declare the Final Year results today and it will miss the deadline set by the state governor.
“It looks difficult to announce all the results by August 5. Our aim is to not extend the August 15 deadline, a Mumbai University official is quoted as saying by Hindutsan Times.
He said while the extra five days were sought assuming the pace of assessment between August 1 and 5 will be similar to what it was during the non-instructional days, the assessment figures have been dismal.
“During the non-instructional days, almost 4,000-5,000 teachers were logging on for online assessment and clearing a lakh and more answer booklets on a daily basis. Now the pace of assessment has dipped, affecting the overall process,” he said.
As of August 4, close to 54% results are yet to be declared with almost 2.44 lakh answer booklets pending to be assessed in the commerce faculty alone. In the days leading up to the July 31 deadline to declare results, the varsity was able to evaluate and moderate more than one lakh papers every day.
However, since Monday, the figure dropped drastically, with just 25,000 papers evaluated and moderated on Friday, HT said in its report.
Meanwhile the Mumbai University declared the results of Bachelor of Architecture Semester 6th exam on its official website on Wednesday.
