New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared online the results of the Civil Services Main Examination 2016 on its official website. The selected candidates will be called for personal interview to be held in March.
The candidates who appeared for the Civil Services Main Examination 2016 can check their results on the UPSC website upsc.gov.in.
"On the basis of the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2016 held by the Union Public Service Commission in from 3rd December to 9th December, 2016, the candidates with the Roll Numbers mentioned in the list published on the UPSC website have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services", a statement said.
"Personality Test of these candidates is likely to commence from 20th March, 2017. The date and time of Personality Test will not be intimated to the qualified candidates individually. The date and time of Personality Test of candidates being called for Personality Test will be displayed on the Commission’s website http://www.upsc.gov.in", it added.
"No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained", the UPSC said.
"The marks sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days", the UPSC said.
Thousands of Civil Services aspirants who cracked the UPSC Civil Services Prelims and later appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Main exams held between December 3 to December 9, 2016 were anxiously waiting for their results.
The candidates who have passed the coveted exams will be called for Personal Interviews. The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) issues Personal Interview schedule, and also interview e-Summon letters to candidates, after announcing the results of the UPSC Civil Services Main Exams.
The UPSC based on the performance of candidates in Personal Interviews/Personality Tests prepares final merit list and recommends candidates for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and others top Civil Services posts in India.
If we go by the records, the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) had declared the results of the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam 2015 on February 19, 2016. The 2015 exam was held from December 18 to December 23, 2015.
The UPSC conducts various exams and declares their results, including that of UPSC Civil Services Prelim, Main and Final results, and related notifications on its official website upsc.gov.in. All results are declared without prior announcement.
The Civil Services Preliminary examination is normally held in the month of August, but now after a gap of three years, the commission will be conducting the examination in the month of June. A graduate in any stream and from a reputed university is eligible to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary examination.
