Palestinian Cancer Patient Jailed

Ramallah: Israel's Salem military court has sentenced a Palestinian cancer patient to 13 months in prison, and to pay a fine of 3,000 shekels (around $811.248).

The Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) said 22-year-old Ali Mahmoud Hanoun from Qalqilia, who suffers from lymphocytic leukemia, was detained by Israeli forces in March 2018.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS) added that Israeli authorities claimed that tests performed on Hanoun following his detention showed that he no longer suffers from the disease. However, PPS affirmed that Hanoun was being treated for lymphocytic leukemia at the time of his arrest.
