New Delhi: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday while mounting fresh attack on Prime Minister Modi and the BJP government in New Delhi said India is for everyone and for the people from all religions, castes and communities and also explained in detail the party's minimum income plan.

"This country is for the people from all religions, castes and communities", he said.

At the same time he exuded confidence that the Congress is going to win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Reminding the gathering that the first education minister of the country was Abul Kalam Azad, Gandhi said, "Whenever you will talk about IITs and IIMs you will also have to remember Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Whenever you will talk about India's progess in space research, you will have to also talk about Vikram Sarabhai."

"While talking about white revolution in India you cannot ignore Verghese Kurien", Rahul Gandhi said.

He also accused the RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat of controlling the union government by remote control and vowed to win the battle in the upcoming polls..

“Constitution is the battlefield on which this election is being fought. RSS wants to run the country from Nagpur. Narendra Modi is the face, Mohan Bhagwat is the remote control,” the Congress chief said while addressing the gathering at Delhi’s JLN Stadium.

He also said that RSS men have infiltrated the bureaucracy in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other states.

"The RSS men have been systematically appointed in every department of Madhya Pradesh. The Congress party will check their appointments and make them realise that their duty is to serve the country, not the RSS", he said.

Rahul Gandhi also dared Prime Minister Modi for a five-minute debate with him on national security and the Rafale jet deal.

"Modi ji, you said you have a 56-inch chest. I challenge you to come a have a face to face debate with me. I challenge you," Mr Gandhi said.

"I challenge the BJP, let Narendra Modi ji debate with me on stage. He is scared, he is a 'darpok (coward)' person. I have recognised him," he said.

Explaining the party's minimum income promise, Rahul Gandhi said it is a well thought plan and the party is committed to fulfill this promise if comes to power.

"If Modi can give 3 lakh 50 thousand crore rupees to 15 selected industrialists, why can't Congress fulfill its promise of minimum income to the country's poor?" he said adding that the party promised this after pondering over it for six months.

Congress MP from Assam Sushmita Dev while saying that the Modi government wants to use Triple Talaq law to send Muslim men behind bar said that the Congress party will scrap the controversial law if it came to power.
