Vintage cars roll out on the streets of Delhi

Sunday, February 28, 2010 03:34:05 PM, ANI

New Delhi: Sparkling vintage beauties from bygone era rolled out on the streets of New Delhi on Sunday in the 44th Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally.

Delhi’s Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna flagged off the rally in which around 130 cars are taking part.

The rally commenced from the city’s majestic Statesman House building and the participants will drive all the way to Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

“This is the oldest rally. We are very happy with the response because for the first time I think, there are 33 new entries this time. People are out on the roads, cheering everyone and I think it’s the moment of the rallyists who work so hard in order to restore these timeless beauties,” said Rahul Mitra, organiser.

Ford, Austin, Bentleys, Minervas, majestic Rolls Royce, classy Plymouth, Fiat, Chevrolet, Buick, Jaguars and a 1914 John Morris, are some of the cars participating in the rally. (ANI)
