New Delhi: The examination authorities have begun accepting online registration starting from Tuesday for All-India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT), scheduled to be held at 10 am on May 01, for the 2016-17 academic session.
The last date for online registration (without late fee) is January 8 and 12, while the last date for online registration (with late fee) is February 6 and 10, 2016 for general/OBC and SC/ST/PH categories, respectively. The admit cards for the exam will be issued on April 1 and results will be declared on June 5.
All Indian nationals and overeas citizens of India above 17 years of age are eligible for appearing in the AIPMT exams. Interested candidates and students can log on to the AIPMT official website i.e. www.aipmt.nic.in and register online.
The application fee for the general and OBC candidates is Rs.1,400 (without late fee) or Rs 2,800 (with late fee). For the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/physically handicapped candidates, the fee is Rs 750 (without late fee) or Rs 2,150 (with late fee).
The AIPMT exam last year was marred by paper leak and the CBSE had to re-conduct the exam following a ruling by the Supreme Court. The CBSE is the responsible for conducting the coveted entrance exam necessary for admission to medical and dental courses.
In the wake of its experience while conducting the AIPMT 2015, the CBSE this year is taking extra care so that the test is conducted smoothly, and without any problem. As safety measures, it has also released the examination guidelines ahead of the scheduled date.
The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing merit list to the DGHS and participating States/Universities/Institutions.
The counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by the DGHS and the Counselling for admission in seats under the control of other participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted by their respective Authorities.
