Aligarh: Urging the two neighbors to shun differences and emulate Germany Brig. (Dr.) Surjit Pabla, Vice Chancellor Manglayatan University Wednesday said that together they can have world's largest and most powerful army.
"If Germany could unite, why cannot India and Pakistan emulate it? If it happens, we will be having the largest and the most powerful army, and India will become the most prosperous nation of the world" , Pabla said while addressing a seminar on Tipu Sultan at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
He also suggested that a movement to unite India and Pakistan should start from the Aligarh Muslim University.
"We should create an environment where Hindus should build the biggest Mosque of the world and the Muslims should construct a temple" he said.
The seminar was the third national seminar in succession on "Tipu Sultan: Secularism and Communal harmony" organised by the Sir Syed Awareness Forum (SAF) to mark the death anniversary of one of the greatest Indian leaders who sacrificed his life for mother land.

"When someone challenges the ruling power that be, he becomes an icon and his struggle against the tyrannical rule denotes great ethical force", he said.
He further said that Tipu Sultan all through his life strove for ensuring the welfare of his subjects and many people have highlighted this aspect.
"He was the embodiment of secularism and still symbolise our shared legacy", he said.
Brig. Pabla said that Tipu Sultan was not a ruler alone but was also an engineer who gave missile technology to the world.
On the occasion, Lt .General Zamir Uddin Shah, Vice Chancellor Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) announced to rename AMU Department of Strategic Studies after Tipu Sultan.
