Mumbai: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organizing institute of JEE (Advanced) 2016, will start receiving application forms online for the IIT Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced 2016 from Friday April 29, 2016 at 10:00 in the morning.
The online registration will end on May 04, 2016 at 05:00 pm, according to the details available on JEE (Advanced) 2016 website especially launched for the purpose. Registration Portal is jeeadv.nic.in.
The JEE (Advanced) 2016 examination will be held on Sunday, 22 May 2016.
Top two lakh candidates from JEE (Main) 2016 will be eligible to appear in the JEE (Advanced) 2016. According to the results declared by the CBSE on April 27, about 1,98,000 candidates have successfully cracked the JEE (Main) 2016.
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2016 [JEE (Advanced) 2016] will be conducted by the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2016.
The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs and the ISM.
The decisions of the JAB 2016 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2016 and admission to IITs and ISM.
The examination consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration and will be held as per the following schedule:
Paper-1 will be held on Sunday 22-May-2016 09:00 to 12:00 IST
Paper-2 will be held on Sunday 22-May-2016 14:00 to 17:00 IST
A candidtae must attempt both the papers.
A candidate can choose the medium of question paper to be either English OR Hindi. A Candidate is allowed to write JEE (Advanced) examination for a maximum of two times - that too consecutively.
Foreign nationals, including PIO and OCI card holders, are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Foreign nationals are outside the ambit of reservation of seats under various categories.
The children of not all defense service personnel are eligible for DS category seats. The DS category seats can be availed by the children whose parent was killed or permanently disabled in action during war or peacetime operations while in defense / paramilitary service.
For securing admission in IITs and ISM a candidate should either be in category wise top 20 percentile in class XII or must have scored at least 75% aggregate marks for general and OBC-NCL or 70% aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates.
