New Delhi: Even as the students, teachers and parents are demanding from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to release online the Answer Key and OMR Sheet of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) Phase 1, the official website timeline shows they will be released only after the NEET Phase 2 exam.

The official NEET website under its section " Important Information at a Glance " has listed the entire schedule of the NEET Phase 2 exam to be held on July 24, 2016.

Under this section the CBSE says the OMR Sheet and Answer Key for NEET Phase 1 and NEET Phase 2 will be released together after the NEET Phase 2 is held on July 24.

According to this schedule, the NEET 1 and NEET 2 OMR Sheet will be published from 04.08.2016 to 06.08.2016 whereas NEET 1 and NEET 2 Answer Key will be made public from 07.08.2016 to 09.08.2016.

The students, teachers and parents however are demanding from the CBSE to release online the Answer Key and OMR Sheet of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) Phase 1 so that the students can know thier score, and if not satisfied can apply for NEET Phase 2.

"NEET-2 is for the betterment of students but how can they decide whether to give exam or not if they don't know the marks of NEET-1. So, it has been requested to kindly issue the OMR of NEET-1," Dr Sanjeev Soni, a parent, wrote in her letter to CBSE.

Gandharv Sharma, a candidate, said, "I have done well but since there were objections, I am not sure how much I will score. If I had the answer key, I would have been sure about the decision. There is a possibility that NEET-2 may be difficult and I might not be able to score much. In this case, I will be at the losing end."

Teachers have also suggested to extend the last date of registration for NEET 2 to June 30.

As per the original schedule, registration for NEET 2 ends on June 25, 2016.

NEET-1 was held amid uncertainty when issue was under consideration of the Supreme Court. When the apex court finally decided the issue, it allowed NEET-1 candidates also to avail another chance to appear in NEET-2, considering the fact that many could not appear in first exam or many did not perform well in the wake of uncertainty. However, the option was open to candidates and those who apply for NEET-2, NEET-1 score automatically stood forfeited.
