Mumbai: Syed Quaim, Executive President of Imamia Chamber of Commerce and Industry who is widely known as M. Q. Syed, has been appointed Chair at the United Nations’ Entrepreneurship programme in India, Empretec, at Imamia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“We are honored to invite M Q Syed as Chair of the UNCTAD-Empretec Programme in India", said Dezider Stefunko, the UNCTAD-Empretec Coordinator for Asia & Europe Enterprise Branch, Division on Investment and Enterprise UNCTAD.
Empretec is the flagship entrepreneurship-development programme of the United Nations, managed by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
According to Arnab Chakrabortty, National Director, UNCTAD-Empretec Programme for India, in keeping with the UN’s guidelines and best practices, Empretec has expanded to thirty seven countries, trained about five lac entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and stakeholders since it’s formation in 1988.
“NCTAD-Empretec programme is being installed in India following its welcoming in the country by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Government of India", Arnab said.
