New Delhi: Even as the Railway board officials are maintaing a guarded silence regarding the exact date of declaration of the Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) 2016 Exam results - claimed to be the world's largest online exam, wild speculations amidst the long delay are adding to the pain of over fifty-seven lakh job aspirants.
Recent news taking round in the media regarding the announcement of Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) 2016 Exam results was that they will be declared in the first week of November, most probably on or before November 06, 2016. Amid these news came the reports that the results of all regions will not be declared simultaneously, and only of few select regions will be declared in the first week of November.
While the candidates were still coping the shcok of these speculations, news came that Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) 2016 Exam results have further been delayed and it seems impossible that they will be decalred in the ongoing month.
Talking to Hindustan Times, a railway ministry source said on Friday, “Around 57 lakh candidates have taken the examination and so a large volume of data has to be processed. The process of scrutiny of results is on and best efforts are being made to declare the results by the end of this month.”
The source further said that “due diligence is being exercised in the scrutiny of results to avoid mistakes.”
It was earlier reported that the results of Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) 2016 Exam will be declared by October end or first week of November, and the second stage Computer Based Test (CBT) for various NTPC (Graduate) categories will begin after the results are decalred.
Anil Kumar Saxena, Additional Director General (PR), Railways Board, had earlier said that the NTPC preliminary (1st stage) examination results 2016 would be declared in the first fortnight of October, sparking speculations that it would happen either on October 14 or 15.
Saxena also said that the board will conduct a second stage computer-based test (CBT) for various NTPC (graduate) category in November-December.
"Only those candidates who have cleared the first stage of the exam, which were held between March and May, will be called for the second stage of the exam. The number of candidates called for the second stage will be 15 times the number of vacancies", he added.
The second stage of the exam is likely to have questions about general awareness, mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning. The test will have 120 multiple choice objective questions and candidates will get 90 minutes to solve them.
