Railway Recruitment Board 2018 Exam: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) is set to release online in the first week of July the list of candidates who have applied for some 90,000 posts with Indian Railways under different categories of Group D and Group C and their application is approved.

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) will also release the list of rejected candidates. The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) had in the month of February 2018 released two notifications – CEN 01/2018 for recruitment of ALP and Technicians, and CEN 02/2018 for recruitment of Group D positions.

As a normal practice, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) releases the list of approved and rejected applications after scrutiny prior to declaring the Admit Cards or Hall Tickets. The Admit Card of the approved candidates are released online at least 15 days before the RRB Recruitment CBT exam.

The RRB Group D and Group Computer Based Test (CBT) 2018 was scheduled to be conducted in the month of May. It was however delayed as the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) received a huge number, according to a rough estimate more than 2.37 crore, applications from the job seekers.

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) sources said the list of approved and rejected candidates will be released in the first week of July 2018 and accordingly the new exam schedule will also be announced. "The new exam schedule will be announced soon. Most likely, the first stage RRB CBT 2018 would be conducted in August and the Second Stage RRB CBT 2018 may be held in the next year", sources said.

Sources also said that one of the regional railway board would be turned into a Nodal Centre which would then conduct the examination and other related activities. All the other regional Railway Recruitment Boards would in turn follow up and release the admit cards and other exam related information to the candidates.

The Railway exams are considered as one of the largest recruitment exams in the world. The 2018 Railway recruitment exams will be held after a gap of 04 years. Candidates who have applied for the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) Group C or Group D exams should regularly visit the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) website of their region to find out the exact Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) exam schedule 2018.

RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2018

The exam pattern for Railway Group D 2018 has two stages. 1) CBT (Computer Based Test) 2) PET (Passing Physical Efficiency Test).

Computer Based Test (CBT): In RRB Computer Based Test questions are asked from Mathematics, Generala Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness on Current Affairs. The level of the exam completely depends upon the educational qualification of the candidates. The duration of the RRB Computer Based Test is 90 minutes and there are a total of 100 questions.

Physical Efficiency Test: Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is important for every candidate and the case differs for male and female candidates. Candidates suffering from any physical disability will be exempted from appearing for the PET round.

Railway Exam Admit Card 2018

The Admit Card of the registered candidates will be released online at least a week before the exam. Candidates shoul note that the Railway Exam Admit Card are released only on official railway boards website. The list of regional railway boards are given below.

The Admit Card for CBT (Computer Based Test) and PET (Passing Physical Efficiency Test) will be issued separately and PET admit cards will only be issued to candidates who have passed the CBT exams. To download the admit card, candidates must have Registration Number/Roll Number and Date of Birth/Password.

Railway Exam Center 2018

The exam center of a candidate will be mentioned in the Admit Card released for the purpose. It will be based on the railway board region selected by the candidates while applying for the railway board exam. A exam centre once allotted to a candidate will not be changed. The list of exam center is also listed on the website of Indian Railways and regional boards' website.

Railway Board Exam 2018 Result

The results for CBT (first phase of RRB Group D exam) will be declared after the examination for the same has been conducted. First, CBT results will be announced and qualifying students who will then take PET exam that will test their physical strength. Later, result for PET will be announced on the official portal.

Railway Group- D Eligibility Criteria 2018

The candidates who are applying for this job must have passed 10th Class or ITI from the institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent (or) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. OR 10th Pass plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass plus ITI from the institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT.

The candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria of the Group- D Recruitment 2018 are eligible to apply for Group-D Posts. The Railway Department do not check the eligibility criteria at the time of the examination. Document to prove the eligibility will be required at the time of the document verification.

Age Limit

Candidates, who have cleared class 10th with (or without) ITI or NAC in the relevant trade, must be under the age limit between 18 years to 31 years as on 01.07.2018. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable for the Reserved Category students. The details regarding the Relaxation criteria will be notified of the detailed version of RRB CEN 02/2018.

Medical Standards and Suitability for PWD

The candidates must make sure that they satisfy the medical standards for the CEN02/2018 Post. For the candidates who are PWD, must check the posts that are eligible for PWD.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) was established in 1988. It is responsible for the appointment of new employees to work for various posts at Indian Railways. It calls eligible candidates for recruitment of various Technical, Non-Technical and Para Medical Posts in Group A, B, C and D Cadres through Online Application / Offline Application Format.
