Lukcnow: Abdus Samad Khan, who retired in 2006 after working with Uttar Pradesh Police, was on Monday assaulted with sticks by three men Allahabad until he lay motionless, bleeding, one arm almost mutilated. For seemingly interminable moments, no one on the road stopped to help 70-year-old retired Sub Inspector, who later died in a hospital.
According to NDTV, Samad Khan fell to the ground and tried to shield himself but the blows kept coming. Another man was caught watching the scene from a terrace. In the 40-second CCTV video clip, several passer by on cycles and two-wheelers, slow down to look and leave.
The CCTV footage showed a man in red shirt repeatedly attacking Abdus Samad Khan. Two more men joined in the beating and soon, Khan stopped resisting and took the blows.
According to police officials, initial investigation into the matter suggests a property dispute with relatives. Ten have been named in the FIR filed at the local police station but no arrests have been made as of yet.
