Prayagraj (Aallahabad): Adani, BJP and RSS have captured the system and keeping it under their control, Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi said while addressing thousands of students gathered at KP Ground in Prayagraj for the Congress Party's Chhatron Ki Goonj (Echo of Students) program Saturday August 08, 2026.
“Who is controlling the system? The financial support to this system is provided by Adani whereas the political support comes from Modi, Amit Shah and BJP.
“On the other hand, the RSS pracharaks have infiltrated the universities and the education institutes, in an attempt to control your minds”, Rahul Gandhi said as the students went berserk hearing the mention of Adani, Modi and Amit Shah.
With a large image of Adani, Modi-Shah duo and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat in the background, Rahul Gandhi explained how Adani’s wealth and BJP’s bank balance went up in the last ten years.
“Adani was at the 600th place in the Global Rich List. He is now at the 2nd place and this happened in just ten years”, Rahul Gandhi said.
“There was a time when the BJP’s bank balance was 150 crore. Now it stands at 10,000 crore rupees”, he said.
“Allahabad University used to be No 1”
Rahul Gandhi began his Chhatron ki Goonj event invoking his family’s connection with Allahabad – the original name of the city which has been rechristened by the BJP government as Prayagraj.
“We had a home here in Allahabad… Allahabad was also a Knowledge Hub… There was also a time when Allahabad University was one of the best universities in India”, he said.
The Chhatron ki Goonj in Prayagraj was Rahul Gandhi's third such outreach program with the students. The first one was held in Kota, Rajasthan on June 17, 2026 and the second was held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
While addressing the students in Prayagraj, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence and the data on which the AI is based.
“India has over 400 million youth who generate a massive amount of data. Youth combined with data defines the economy of the 21st century”, Rahul Gandhi said.
“Without your data, AI has no meaning, and AI can be created from data, but data cannot be created from AI”, Rahul Gandhi said.
Data of the youth is the potential of the youth, but the system has trapped those very youth in a chakravyuh. The youth of the country study, with millions-crores of rupees spent by families on this. Then the system hands out a certificate, but it doesn't get you employment", he said.
While addressing the Chhatron ki Goonj Prayagraj program, Rahul again highlighted the issue of large scale unemployment in India under the Narendra Modi government.
“Manufacturing is shut, MSMEs and Startups are not getting financial support from banks and PSUs have been sold to private firms. The only option left is government job where the fact is only 1 in 150 applicant the job”, Rahul said.
In Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi applauded the students for organizing peaceful protests at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, Patna, Bihar and other parts of the country against paper leaks and irregularities in India’s education system.
“You lit a light in the darkness, and in doing so, changed the country,” he said directly addressing the country's youth and promised the Congress Party's support to them.
As seen during Rahul Gandhi’s two earlier Chhatron ki Goonj events, the Congress MP also invited two groups of students to share their experience of the problems they are facing under the current education system. The students, while sharing the harrowing accounts of their sufferings, vowed to fight against the current regime, even daring the government to take actions against them.
