Mumbai: Continuing its success run consecutively for the fifth year, 07 students out of the total 23 Rahmani 30 students have cracked the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Adnavced 2013 conducted for entry into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
They are 1) Sajid Iqbal, 2) Maa'z Haider, 3) Munwwar Hameed Nazri, 4) Aatif Gulbaaz, 5) Irshad Ziya, 6) Khushnoor Qadir and 7) Mohd Danish Hussain.
Besides these successful candidates who have now qualified for admission to the top Indian institute by cracking the new pattern of the joint entrance exam, Mohd Tehseen Aalam - a 2012 batch student who has given the exam based on the old pattern, has also cleared the IIT-JEE.
The JEE this year was conducted in two parts for the first time. JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced are the newer version of the earlier IIT-JEE, the joint entrance exam for admission to IITs.
The first batch of Rahmani-30, managed by the Rahmani Foundation of Munger, had got 100% success.
Brainchild of Maulana Syed Mohammad Wali Rahmani, Rahmani-30 was launched in July 2008. It provides free coaching to poor Muslim students from government schools for competitive exams.
In its first batch it created history when all its ten students who appeared for the IIT-JEE 2009 cleared the coveted exam.
The results were surprising as all of these ten students were from poor family backgrounds and had completed their 10+ exams from Municipal primary schools.
Rahmani 30 along with IIT-JEE also provide free coaching to poor students for Chartered Accountant (CA) entrance.
Though headquartered in Patna, Rahmani 30 has branch offices in other parts of the country. A week back it had decided to open a branch in Mumbai.
Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) are the premier engineering institutes that give admissions only after the entrance tests.
The percentage of Muslims in the IITs so far is very poor.
