Chennai: Creating history, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Thursday launched the PSLV-C33 rocket which carried seventh navigation satellite of the country.
PSLV-C33, which is carrying Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-IRNSS-1G, blasted off from Sriharikota space station here at12.50 p.m.
Indian PM Narendra Modi said it is a gift by the scientists to the people of India.
"India has launched seven such navigation satellites which have been successful", he said.
"With this successful launch, we will determine our own paths powered by our technology. This is a great gift to people from scientists", Modi said.
"Our efforts will not only help India but we can help fellow SAARC nations as well", he added.
Modi said through space science lives of people can be transformed.
