UPSC Combined Medical Services Exam 2016: 43 Muslims among 894 recommended for various posts

43 Muslim doctors are among a total of 894 recommended for various medical posts to be filled based on the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2016 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) the final results of which were declared Wednesday.

Out of the total 43 Muslim doctors, who made to the list of 894 successful candidates, 13 are female.

As per the Merit List released by the UPSC, 09 Muslim doctors figure among top 100. Ahammad Kabeer bagged the 18th rank whereas Saif Anees ranked 22, Zeba Khanam 27 and Mohammad Tausif Ullah ranked 28.

Other Muslim doctors who are among top 100 are Nadeem Husain (rank 54), Ahsan Kamal (rank 61), Reham Ahmad (rank 72), Mahammad Samim Mandal (rank 76) and V Md Ismail Zabeehullah (rank 100).

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Wednesday declared the final results of Combined Medical Services Examination, 2016 recommending 894 candidates for various posts.

The candidates who had appeared for Combined Medical Services Examination, 2016 can check the list as per merit released by the UPSC by clicking here: www.upsc.gov.in.

The results are declared based on the result of the Computer Based Examination (Part – I) of the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2016 held by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION on 12th June, 2016 followed by Personality Test (Part – II) held in August, 2016 to December, 2016.

The candidates have been recommended for appointment to the services/posts in the (i) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways; (ii) Assistant Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service; (iii) Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Service; (iv) General duty Medical Officer Gr-II in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation; and (v) General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council, according to UPSC.

Of the total 894 candidates recommended for appointment to the above posts, 426 candidates are in General category, 328 are from the OBC, 98 are from SC whereas 42 candidates are STs.

"Appointments to the various services/posts will be made according to the number of vacancies available and subject to the candidates fulfilling all the prescribed eligibility conditions and all verifications, wherever due, being completed satisfactorily", the UPSC said while announcing the results.

"Allotment of candidates to various services/posts shall be made according to ranks obtained and preference of services/posts expressed by them", the UPSC addded.

"The offer of appointment to the candidates whose result has been kept provisional will not be issued till the Commission verifies the original documents awaited from such candidates. The provisionality of these candidates will remain valid only for a period of six months from the date of declaration of Final result", it said.

"In case the candidate fails to submit the requisite documents as required by the Commission within this period, their candidature will be cancelled and no further correspondence would be entertained in this regard", the UPSC said.
