Bengaluru: The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has declared online the results of the Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) 2016 exam today i.e. Monday May 16, 2016 exactly at 03:15 pm and put them on official websites for download.
The overall pass percentage is 79.16, almost two percent less than previous year. It shows a 2.66 per cent decline in the number of students who managed to pass the examination compared to the 2015 examination.
At a total of 52 schools, including three government schools, across the state the pass percentage was zero. The zero list includes six government aided schools and 43 unaided private schools.
“This time the male percentage of students who passed the exam is 75.84 per cent and for the girls its 82.64 percent. Girls have outshone boys as usual,” minister for primary education in Karnataka Kimmane Rathnakar said.
Ranjan, a student of the Poorna Prajna School in Bhadravathi in the Shimoga district secured 625 marks out of 625 in the exam. No student is known to have achieved in the history of the SSLC examinations. There is incidentally no rankings in the SSLC examinations.
The district of Bengaluru has performed the best in the exams with an over all pass percentage of 88 percent followed by Udupi, Mangaluru and the Uttara Kannada district. Ballary district has performed the worst with an over all pass percentage of 53.87 followed by Gadag and Yadagiri. Last year, Udupi district had performed the best in the SSLC exams.
As many as 2707 specially challenged candidates appeared for the examination and 1647 of the candidates cleared their examination. More than 652 private candidates above the age of 40 years appeared for the SSLC examination but only 23 of them have managed to clear the exam.
The SSLC 2016 results are available for download on "karresults.nic.in" and "sslc.kar.nic.in", according to KSEEB announcement.
In order to view the results, the candidates are required to follow the steps listed below:
Go to any one of the official websites listed above, Click on the link, 'SSLC Results 2016', Enter the roll number and then Submit the same.
The results will be displayed on the screen. The candidates must take a printout for further reference.
The Karanataka SSLC 2016 exam was held from March 30 to April 13. Over 8.49 lakh students took the examination at 3,082 centres.
The board, for the first time in the last fifteen days announced that it will declare the SSLC 2016 results today i.e. May 16, 2016 after 03:00 pm.
The Karnataka SSLC Results 2016 was supposed to be announced on Friday May 13. It was however postopned for some reason, according to multiple media reports.
Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board came in to existence in the year 1966, has been conducting SSLC and other examinations. Every year the student strength is increasing tremendously.
Every year in April about 8.50 Lakhs and in June 1.50 Lakhs students are appearing for the SSLC examinations.
The board has decided to improve the evaluation system and the results, has set up divisional offices of the Board. This decentralization caters to the need of the student needs at their proximity. The board is now providing Admission Tickets with student photographs and major breakthrough in this venture is the photos being used in the repeaters Admission Tickets also.
The board has ventured to conduct the supplementary examination for the failed candidates of the examination of March in June month of every year itself; this will enable the students who would be successful in the June examination to join higher education courses in the same academic year from July itself. This process was introduced first time in the country.
