Kozhikode: A case was registered against Indian Union Muslim League MLA Parakkal Abdulla for his recent speech allegedly calling for a retaliatory attack against party worker Muhammad Aslam's murder, police said.

Kuttiyadi MLA Abdulla was booked under IPC section 505 (1)(b) (...whereby any person may be induced to commit an offence against the state or the public tranquility), Nadapuram Sub-inspector Abhilash said.

The case was registered on a complaint lodged by DYFI Nadapuram block president T Abheesh to the district police, he said.

The MLA had allegedly made the controversial remarks at a meeting of Kerala Muslim Cultural Center, an organisation of Kerala expatriates, held in a Gulf country recently.

"As it is a non-cognizable offence, we have to get the sanction of the Magistrate. We moved the complaint for sanction and got it now from the Judicial First Class Magistrate, Nadapuram and registered a case," Abhilash said.

"Investigation is going on and based on which further action would be taken", he said.

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of Aslam on August 12 by some unidentified persons in Vadakara about 48 kms from.
