NEET-PG and NEET-MDS 2016 exam schedule announced

National Board of Examinations (NBE) on Wednesday announced the 2016 examination schedule of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for entrance to MDS Courses (NEET-MDS) and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for entrance to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses (NEET-PG) on its official website.

According to the official release, NEET-PG 2016 will be held December 5th to December 13th whereas NEET-MDS will be held from November 30th to December 3rd.

"The NEET-MDS 2016 shall be held in 86 test centers at 41 cities from November 30th - December 3rd, 2016", the NBE said in the notification.

NEET-MDS and NEET-PG both the test will be Computer Based Test (CBT).

NEET-PG 2016 will comprise of 300 Multiple Choice Questions from the MBBS curriculum followed at medical colleges in India duly prescribed as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulation notified by Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

NEET-MDS 2016 will comprise of 240 Multiple Choice Questions from the BDS curriculum followed at dental colleges in India duly prescribed as per the Graduate Dental Education Regulation notified by Dental Council of India with prior approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India", the official release said.

The website for NEET-PG and NEET-MDS shall be available with effect from 24/09/2016 and online registration for the NEET-PG shall commence from 0700hrs on 26/09/2016 till 31/10/2016 (23:59hrs). The entire procedure for registration and application for the examination is online.

NEET-PG and NEET-MDS both are single window entrance examinations for entry to MD/MS/Post Diploma courses and for entrance to MDS Courses respectively. No other examination either at state level or institutional level entrance examination conducted by medical colleges /institutions shall be valid as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 with effect from 2017 admission session.

National Board of Examinations is an autonomous organization established by Government of India in 1982 with prime objective of conducting post graduate examinations on all India basis.
