The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Government of Maharashtra on Saturday released the details of eligibility criteria and also important instructions regarding Mop up Round (Document Exchange Round) for vacant Government Medical seats in Maharashtra.

The DMER further said it will release the Mop up Round on Monday Augusut 28, 2017 evening.

"The Selection list of this Mop up round will be declared on 28 /08/2017 evening on the website. All the Selected/Upgraded candidates should join the selected institution on or be before 31/08/2017, 03.00 pm", the DMER said in a statement.

According to the DMER Maharashtra, the Mop up round for vacant seats for government and provate MBBS/BDS colleges was held on August 24, 2017. All the selected and upgraded candidates are asked tp come for admission at Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospital, Byculla Mumbai on August 27.

"As per the rules stated in brochu re for NEET UG 2017, following Candidates are eligible for this round.

  1. Candidate who is not selected in the previous round.
  2. Candidate who is selected in the previous round, joined the course and not submitted status Retention form.

Whereas following candidates are not eligible for this round.

  1. Candidate who was selected in any of the previous round (s), but failed to join the course.
  2. Candidate who was selected in any of the previous round (s) joined the course and cancelled/resigned, his/her admission.
  3. Candidate who was selected in any of the previous round (s), joined the course and filled Status Retention form.

According to DMER, there is no provision for Submission of status Retention form for this round because there will not be any further round for MBBS Seats. Joining in this round for Selected/upgraded Candidate is mandatory Candidate can be selected /upgraded can not have option of not joining.

The DMER further said that any Candidate responsible for lapse of MBBS/BDS seat will have to pay a penalty of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupee Ten Lacs Only).

"This penelty is applicable to all those Candidates who do not join during last round or cancel a seat after last round of admission. This penalty is also applicable to any candi date resigning a seat after cut off date for MBBS/BDS course or also fails to complete the course, irrespective of admission quota of the candidate", the DMER said.
