New Delhi: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Wednesday extended the last date of application of the Combined Higher Secondary Higher Level (10+2) Tier I and Tier II Examination 2017 to be held in March 2018 due to technical issues on the server.
The last date to apply for both the exams was December 18. It has now been extended to December 27.
"It has come to the notice of the Commission that due to heavy traffic on the server of the Commission, some candidates are facing problems in submission of online application form for the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2017," the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) said an official notification.
"Therefore, keeping in view the difficulties being faced by some candidates, the Competent Authority has decided to further extend the closing date for filling up of online application forms for Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2017 to December 27.
"The candidates may please note that no further extension of time will be given under any circumstances beyond 27.12.2017(5 pm) for submission of online application form to the said Examination," the commission added.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) had on November 18 released the official notification of the Combined Higher Secondary Higher Level (10+2) Tier I and Tier II Examination 2017-18 on its official website, ssc.nic.in.
According to the notification, the Computer based exam Tier - I will be held from March 04 to March 26, 2018, wgereas Tier II examination, which will be of descriptive type, will be held on July 8, 2018.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) simultaneously started from November 18 receiving applications of the candidates willing to appear for the CHSL Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams.
Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams will be followed by Tier 3 exam to test the typing skill of the candidates.
Paper pattern
Tier 1 Exam: Computer based Tier I exam will be of 60 minute duration. It will contain 100 questions based on English language, General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude (basic arithmetic skill) and General Awareness. Special students will be diven additional 20 minutes.
Candidates should note that Tier 1 exam will have negative marking, and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Tier 2 Exam: This exam will be pen and paper based descriptive type. The duration of the exam would be one hour. To be written either in Hindi or in English, the CHSL Tier 2 exam will comprise of writing an essay of 200-250 words and letter application of approximately 150-200 worda.
