Nanded (Maharashtra): IPS Noorul Hasan made waves after he took first independent charge as the Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dharamabad near here in the last week.
He however was forced to take to social media to clear the air about his age, after some news reports termed him the youngest IPS officer.
“Last 3 days I am getting a lot of queries regarding civil service examination and regarding my age. a wrong (sic) news on WhatsApp is being circulated that I am 22 years and youngest IPS. I want to clarify that neither I am the youngest IPS nor my age is 22. Of course I am much older”, Noorul Hasan posted on his Facebook page.
Interestingly, the news report claiming Noorul Hasan to be the youngest IPS Officer also claimed the young police cop is from "Peelibheet" district of Uttar Pradesh. Noorul hasana's Facebook page however says he is from Bareilly.
An Aligarian, Noorul Hasan was Former Scientific Officer D at Department of Atomic Energy, India and studied B.Tech Electrical Engineering at Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
Noorul Hasan also runs a blog for UPSC Civil Services aspirants.
The blog amu2ias.wordpress.com was born after he along with six Aligs who had cracked the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2014 visited AMU on August 25, 2015.
"During our vist to AMU, we found AMU students full of energy, enthusiasm and motivation to do something worthwhile in their lives. The visit was overwhelming for us in all respects", he said.
"This blog is born out of the need felt to have a Discussion and Q&A Forum for various students/alumni of AMU and elsewhere who want to prepare for CSE conducted by UPSC.
"This blog is aimed at providing an avenue to aspirants for a continued discussion with qualifiers of CSE primarily from AMU and others, as well as, for providing guidance to the aspirants according to the changing exam pattern", he said.
