75-year-old booked for raping great grand-daughter in Nashik

Nashik: A 75-year-old man has been booked for allegedly outraging modesty of his three-and-half year old great grand-daughter between January 21 and 22, when the minor was alone in the house, police said.

The alleged accused, who had come to meet his grand-daughter and her family members from Nifad, sexually assaulted his great-granddaughter in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, police said today.

When the girl's mother came to know about the incident, she registered a criminal complaint at the Deolali Police Station against her grandfather.

The Deolali Camp Police have registered a complaint under section 354 of Indian Penal Code as well as under section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.Acting on the complaint, police arrested the culprit last night, sources added.

The family stays at Shingave Bahula village near Devlali. The members of the family had gone out and the girl and her great grand-father were alone in the house, said an official release here.
