UPSC Civil Services Main Written Result 2017

New Delhi:
About 2,250 candidates have been selected for the Final Interview to be held in February 2018, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) said Wednesday while declaring the results of the Civil Services Main Examination 2017.

"On the basis of the results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2017 held by the Union Public Service Commission from 28th October, 2017 to 3rd November, 2017, the candidates whose roll numbers are mentioned in the list published on the UPSC website have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’)", a UPSC statement said.

According to the list released by the UPSC on its official website upsc.gov.in, a total of 2,256 candidates have been shortlisted for the personal interview - considered as one of the toughest test in India. The interview is likely to commence from February 19, 2018 onwards.

To other shortlisted candidates, the UPSC will send e-Summon or e-Call letter once the dates and schedule are confirmed. No paper summon letters will be issued for UPSC final interviews.

UPSC Civil Services Recruitment process consists of three steps; UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam, UPSC Civil Services Main Exam and UPSC Civil Services Interview. The final merit list and selection is done on the basis of a candidate's score in Personal Interview as well as written exam i.e. Civil Services Main examination.

"Personality Test of these candidates is likely to commence from 19th Feb, 2018. Personality Tests will be held in the Office of the Union Public Service Commission at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The e-Summon Letter of Personality Test of candidates being called for Interview may be downloaded from the Commission’s Website http://www.upsc.gov.in from 18th Jan, 2018", the UPSC said in a statement.

"No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained", the UPSC said.

"The marks sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days", the UPSC said.

The UPSC conducts various exams and declares their results, including that of UPSC Civil Services Prelim, Main and Final results, and related notifications on its official website upsc.gov.in. All results are declared without prior announcement.

The Civil Services Preliminary examination is normally held in the month of August, but now after a gap of three years, the commission will be conducting the examination in the month of June. A graduate in any stream and from a reputed university is eligible to appear for the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary examination.
