
Aligarh: The Centre of Advanced Study (CAS) Department of History in collaboration with Musa Dakri Museum, the Central Museum of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is organising an Exhibition of Miniatures depicting the life of Mughal Emperor Akbar to commemorate his 476th birth anniversary.
"In order to celebrate Mughal Emperor Akbar's 476th Birth Anniversary, the Centre of Advanced Study (CAS) Department of History in collaboration with Musa Dakri Museum, the Central Museum of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is organising an #Exhibition of Miniatures depicting the Life of Akbar", Professor Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi, Chairman and Coordinator CAS Department of History and Coordinator Musa Dakri Museum AMU, said in a statement.
"Also on display would be copies of Akbari Documents, Coins and Medallions. Some archaeological artefacts from Fathpur Sikri, his Capital City, would also be on display", he added.
Mughal Emperor Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar, one of the greatest sons of India, was born on 15th October 1542. He was born in the mansion of a Rajput prince at Amarkot, according to Professor Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi.
The Centre of Advanced Study (CAS) Department of History AMU will also simultaneously celebrate the birth anniversary of AMU Founder Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.
"We would also be simultaneously paying our tribute to our founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, whose birth anniversary occurs on 17th October, by displaying some books, sculptures and archaeological artefacts collected by him", Professor Syed Ali Nadeem Rezavi said.
