Government to arm one million Libyans, says state TV

Cairo/Tripoli: The Libyan government will arm more than one million citizens within hours, state TV reported Sunday, shortly after leader Muammer Gaddafi said that weapon depots had been opened.

Gaddafi said Libya is ready for a "long, glorious war" and that arms were distributed to all Libyans, including women.
