Mumbai:
In a unique car rally, 100 enthusiastic blind navigators displayed
their skills by directing their partner drivers through a 65 km
route in the sixth edition of the Blind Man's Car Rally here
Sunday.
Armed with a route map in braille, the navigators guided the
drivers through a series of check points.
Organised by Round Table India in association with the National
Association for the Blind (NAB), the rally was aimed at raising
funds for its projects under 'Freedom through Education'.
"The aim of this rally is to create awareness that we all are
responsible for our society, it matters least whether we are
visually impaired or not. We can bring change in the country only
if we have concern and correct attitude. This rally is a small
effort to join hands and fight against odds," NAB's secretary
general K. Ramkrishna said.
The rally was flagged off by former India cricket captain Dilip
Vengsarkar.
"I am delighted to be associated with such a noble initiative of
Round Table India, which is contributing to the movement of
educating millions of underprivileged children," he said.
