Thane: The Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (SS-BJP) alliance emerged as the single largest entity at the Thane Municipal Corporation winning 61 seats of the total 130.

The Congress-NCP alliance finished with 52 seats.

Counting is under way in nine other municipal corporations - Mumbai (227 seats), Ulhasnagar (78), Pune (152), Pimpri-Chinchwad (128), Nashik (122), Solapur (102), Akola (73), Amravati (87) and Nagpur (145).
