Aligarh: A book entitled 'Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum Hayat-o-Khidmaat' edited by Prof. Athar Siddiqi and published by Female Education Association, Aligarh will be released on Wednesday, 28 August, 2013.
The book release function will be held at
Urdu Academy, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh at 11:30 in the morning.
"The book describes life and work of Begum Sultan Jahan, Nawab of erstwhile Bhopal state. It will be released by Dr. Khwaja Mohd. Ekramuddin, Director of National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), Ministry of HRD, New Delhi", Prof. Zakia Athar Siddiqi, Secretary, Female Education Association, Aligarh told media persons.
Begum Sultan Jahan Begum was the first Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University and is been credited for developing education, particularly female education.
Besides an educationist, she was a good administrator and managed Bhopal state well.
