Patna: Bihar Police Monday said a man has been taken into custody and was being interrogated in connection with the serial bomb blasts in the Mahabodhi temple complex in Bihar's Bodh Gaya town, and CCTV footage revealed suspicious activity.
Vinod Mishtri was taken into custody late Sunday evening from a village within Barachatti police station limits in Gaya, after his identity card was found in the premises.
Barachatti is considered a stronghold of Maoists.
"Police have taken him into custody and have begun interrogating him after his identity card was found in the temple," a district police official said.
Police officials in Bodh Gaya Monday said that more arrests will be made soon on the basis of CCTV footage.
Police officials said they have narrowed down on some suspicious activity noticed on CCTV footage, and efforts are on to identify the people on camera.
District officials said that 15 of the 16 CCTV cameras installed at the temple premises were functional at the time of the incident.
Nine explosions shattered the serenity of the temple early Sunday, injuring two monks but did not cause much damage to the structure. The government termed it a terrorist attack. A National Investigation Team has begun its probe.
