New Delhi: A 30-year-old mentally disturbed man was detained with a licenced pistol meters away from the house of Ahmad Patel, political adviser to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, police said Monday.
Joginder Singh was in his car when he was stopped at a police checkpost in central Delhi, a police officer said.
"He was mentally disturbed and spoke nonsense. A .315 bore pistol and 21 live cartridges were recovered from his possession," he said.
He could not explain why he was carrying the weapon and what his destination was.
