Many Indians are among 170 expatriates rounded up by police in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for breaking residency laws.

Of the 170 arrested, 100 were working illegally as street vendors, 53 violated the law by entering the country illegally, and 17 were found working for employers other than their legal sponsors, local media reported Monday.
