Mumbai: Like other Indians, Muslims too are flocking to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which began its political journey with a campaign against corruption but later surprised the political analysts by its performance in the recent Delhi assembly election.

The latest among the Muslims who has joined the newly born political party is the president of Nadwa Old Boys' Association, Luqman Nadvi. Another important induction into the AAP is the grandson of freedom fighter and renowned Urdu poet Hasrat Mohani, Syed Shaan-ul-Haq.
Shaan-ul-Haq is founder member of Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP and Jamiat Ahle-Hadees Mumbai. He had also contributed his services as member of drafting committee of Maharashtra state youth policy under Supriya Sule.
"In Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) we have a party which has a vision and determination to take all sections of the society together", he said while talking to ummid.com.
"This is the time for everyone especially the Muslims to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) so as to claim their rights as defined in the Indian constitution but are ignored due to the corrupt political system", he added.
The Aam Aamdi Party (AAP) is taking all efforts to get the support from Muslim masses in the ensuing parliamentary election, and has also decided to give appropriate representation and party tickets to them. Muslims are the second largest population in India.
Luqman Nadwi's and Shaan-ul-Haq's AAP association is important since Darul Uloom Nadwa, the famous Muslim seminary in Lucknow and Association of Muslim Professionals both has a huge following across the country.
Besides organising meetings of AAP top brass and the candidates contesting the 2014 Lok Sabha election on AAP ticket with the Muslim community along with Luqman Nadwi, Shaan-ul-Haq is also working as active volunteer of the Aam Aamdi Party (AAP) and is devoting his entire time at the AAP Maharashtra headquarter.
