JoSAA JEE Mains 2016: Sixth Round Seat Allocation released online

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released online the Sixth (6th) and Final Round Seat Allocation of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains exam today i.e. Tuesday July 19, 2016 on its official website.

The JoSSA 6th list is released online and is available at www.josaa.nic.in.

"Sixth round seat allotment result announced", the JoSSA said in a statement.

"Sixth round seat acceptance: In addition to 20th, candidates can report on 19th July 2016. Time: From 10 AM to 5 PM on both the days", it added.

"Only those candidates who are allotted seats first time in round 6 and those who have to do dual reporting must report at the respective reporting centres (RC) and accept the seats.

"After accepting the seats, they have to report to the allotted institute as per the schedule given below", it is announced.

"The seats of all those candidates who are so far maintaining float/slide are frozen as per 6th round allotment. They are required to report directly at the allotted institute (but not at any RC) as per the given schedule", the statement said.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has already declared the list of Seats filled/Seats Available after the second, third, fourth and fifth rounds.

Candidates can access the JEE Mains Sixth Round Seat Allotment and details of seats filled and vailable on the official website of the JoSAA, www.josaa.nic.in.

  • Type in Password
  • Click on Login

JoSAA has earlier said that it will conduct six rounds that is 1st through 6th rounds of seat allocation for academic programs offered by Institutes under JoSAA 2016.

The first round was declared on June 30, second round was published on the website on July 6 whereas the third round was released on July 10. The 4th round list was released on July 14. The 5th round was declared online on 17th July.

According to the official website, if the candidate is offered a seat, he or she is required to download the Seat Allotment Letter which is available on the website itself.

It is also announced that all candidates who have appeared in JEE (Main) 2016 are eligible to register for seat allocation in NIT+ system (except IITs & ISM), and all candidates who have declared qualified in JEE (Adv) 2016 are eligible to register for seat allocation in all participating Institutes.

The mock seat allocation was earlier declared by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) on June 27 and as per the schedule and it was announced that the JEE Main allotment along with seat allotment result for JEE Advanced candidates will be rolled out on June 30.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2016 has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 92 institutes for the academic year 2016-17.

This includes 22 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.
