IIT JEE Advanced 2016 results to be declared Sunday June 12 at 10:00 am

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, the organizing institute of JEE (Advanced) 2016, will declare online the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2016 on Sunday June 12 at 10:00 am on its official website.

"RESULTS OF JEE (ADVANCED) 2016 will be declared on Sunday, June 12, 2016 10:00 IST. Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after the results are declared", IIT Guwahati said in a statement.

Once declared, the IIT JEE Advanced 2016 results will be available on "jeeadv.ac.in".

"Individual rank cards will NOT be sent to candidates", the IIT-Guwahati said in the statement.

"Obtaining a rank in JEE (Advanced) 2016 does not guarantee admission to IITs or ISM", it added.

"Only candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and in aggregate will be included in the rank list. The minimum prescribed marks varies with the category", it said.

"The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2016 is the sum of the marks awarded to him/her in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Rank lists will be prepared based on the aggregate marks in JEE (Advanced) 2016", the statement said.

"Higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Mathematics. If this does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Physics. If there is a tie even after this, candidates will be assigned the same rank", it said.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati released Optical Response Ssheet (ORS) on June 01, 2016 whereas it put on display online the Answer Keys on June 05, 2016.

Around two lakh students appeared on Sunday May 22, 2016 for the JEE (Advanced) examination for entry into the coveted Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

The answer sheet of each paper of JEE (Advanced) 2016 is a machinereadable Optical Response Ssheet (ORS). The ORS has two pages with the same lay-out. The first page of the ORS is machine readable. It is designed so as to leave impressions of the responses on the second page.

Top two lakh candidates from JEE (Main) 2016 were qualified to appear in the JEE (Advanced) 2016. According to the results declared by the CBSE on April 27, about 1,98,000 candidates have successfully cracked the JEE (Main) 2016.

The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2016 [JEE (Advanced) 2016] was conducted by the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2016.

The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs and the ISM.

The decisions of the JAB 2016 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2016 and admission to IITs and ISM.

The examination consisted of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, each of three hours duration and will be held as per the following schedule:

Paper-1 will be held on Sunday 22-May-2016 09:00 to 12:00 IST
Paper-2 will be held on Sunday 22-May-2016 14:00 to 17:00 IST

A candidtae must attempt both the papers.

A candidate can choose the medium of question paper to be either English OR Hindi. A Candidate is allowed to write JEE (Advanced) examination for a maximum of two times - that too consecutively.

Foreign nationals, including PIO and OCI card holders, are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Foreign nationals are outside the ambit of reservation of seats under various categories.

The children of not all defense service personnel are eligible for DS category seats. The DS category seats can be availed by the children whose parent was killed or permanently disabled in action during war or peacetime operations while in defense / paramilitary service.

For securing admission in IITs and ISM a candidate should either be in category wise top 20 percentile in class XII or must have scored at least 75% aggregate marks for general and OBC-NCL or 70% aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

Admissions to IIT Chhattisgarh, IIT Goa, IIT Jammu and IIT Karnataka will be conducted from the academic year 2016 - 17.
