CBSE Class 12 results 2016 released, available online for download

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared online the results of Senior School Certificate Examination i.e. Class XII or Class 12 Board Examination 2016 for all its regions today exactly as per schedule i.e. Saturday May 21.

The candidates can access the CBSE Class 12 results on three websites: results.nic.in, "cbseresults.nic.in" and "cbse.nic.in".

Students can send sms writing cbse12 to 51115 to get their class 12th scores. This sms service is live on Vodafone, Airtel, Tata Docomo and Idea and will be charged Re 1 for each message.

The results sheet released by the CBSE showed that the pass percentage of girls for CBSE class 12 results is 88.58 per cent, and pass percentage of boys is 78.85 per cent.

Regionwise, overall pass percentage of Thiruvananthapuram region in Kerala is highest in the country with 97.61 per cent.

As per the topper's list released by the CBSE, Sukriti Gupta of Monfort School Ashok Vihar, Delhi has topped the CBSE Class XII 2016 exams. She has scored a total of 497 marks.

Palak Goyal of Tagore Public School Kurukshetra, with a score of 496 marks, has bagged the 2nd position.

Somya Uppal of St. Theresa's Convent School Haryana and Ajish Sekar of PSBB Sr Sec School KK Nagar, Chennai have shared the 2nd position. Both the students have scored 495 marks each.

In Differently-Abled Category, Mudita Jagota of D A V Public School Faridabad, Haryana topped the all India merit list scoring a total of 485 marks.

Siddhartha Biswas of Kendriya Vidayalay RK Puram and Rakshit Malik of Amity International Scool GB Nagar, Uttar Pradesh bagged the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. They scored a total of 484 and 482 marks each.

The CBSE Class 12 Results 2016 were schedule to be announced todat at 12:00 pm. The CBSE however released the results of all its regions before time.

Along with individual results, the CBSE has also released Schoolwise results on the above mentioned websites.

To check the results, students are needed to one of the above websites, click on suitable link marked with "Class XII Results 2016", fill the appropriate details in the provided space and submit the same.

The schools will automatically get their entire Schools results on email id's already registered with the Board.

"Starting this year, the CBSE will also provide Class XII digital mark sheets in DigiLocker at "digilocker.gov.in". The DigiLocker account credentials will be sent to students via SMS on their mobile number registered with CBSE," an official statement said.

"The results will also be available via Android mobile app-DigiResults. As per previous years, the board will also be disseminating its results through IVRS also," it added.

The second phase of tele-counselling will also commence along with the announcement of the results and will continue till June 4, 2016.

The CBSE exams began on March 1 and concluded on April 22. This year, a total of 10,67,900 candidates registered for the Class 12 exam as against 10,40,368 in 2015.

HRD Minister Smriti Irani had earlier this week assured students during a Facebook chat that the result for CBSE Board exams for class X and XII will be declared "on time" before the end of this month and, as per a decision taken earlier, state boards are also expected to declare their results by May 31.

"Schools under the Delhi region are advised to collect the results from the office of the respective Zonal office after declaration of the result. People are advised not to visit Board's office for collection of results," the statement said adding, the process of verification will be displayed on CBSE's website shortly.
