Karnataka PUC 2016 results declared, Pass percentage down by 3%

The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) declared online the results of the Class 12 or Pre-University Course (PUC) 2016 exam at the scheduled time today i.e. Wednesday May 25, 2016 at 11:00 am on its official website.

According to the preliminary analysis of the results, the overall pass percentage is 57.2 per cent, a dip by 3 per cent as compared to 2015 when it was 60.54.This year, over 8 lakh candidates appeared for the PUC examination.

Dakshina Kannad educational district stands first in the state with 90.48 per cent followed by Udupi, Kodagu, Uttara Kannada districts and Yadagiri district stands last with 44.16 per cent followed by Chitradurga and Gadag districts.

As usual girls outperform boys this year too with 64.78 percentage. The highest scored registered is 596 in Science, 594 in Commerce and 585 Arts.

The pass percentage of fresher’s is 68.65 while of private candidates is 25.62, and repeaters percentage is 25.07.

The Science stream students pass percentage is 66.25, commerce stream students percentage is 64.16 and arts stream students pass percentage is 42.12.

Totally, 91 PU colleges achieves 0 per cent result including 88 private unaided colleges. This time only 26 students results has been withheld with various reasons including malpractices

In order to view the results, the candidates are required to follow the steps listed below:

Go to the official website, Click on the link, 'PUC Results 2016', Enter the roll number and then Submit the same.

The results will be displayed on the screen. The candidates must take a printout for further reference.

The Karanataka PUC 2016 exam was held in months of March and April. Over 8 lakh candidates appeared for the PUC examination held at 1017 centres.

The PUC examination was in news due to Chemistry paper leak. CID enquiry is on. The personal assistant (PA) of a Karnataka minister was arrested in this regard.

The results got delayed due to the re-examination and evaluation boycott by lecturers.

The Karnataka board has already declared the Karnataka SSLC 2016 examination results on May 16, 2016.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board came in to existence in the year 1966, has been conducting SSLC and other examinations. Every year the student strength is increasing tremendously.

The board has decided to improve the evaluation system and the results, has set up divisional offices of the Board. This decentralization caters to the need of the student needs at their proximity.

The board is now providing Admission Tickets with student photographs and major breakthrough in this venture is the photos being used in the repeaters Admission Tickets also.

The board has ventured to conduct the supplementary examination for the failed candidates of the examination of March in June month of every year itself; this will enable the students who would be successful in the June examination to join higher education courses in the same academic year from July itself. This process was introduced first time in the country.
