
Chennai: The Directorate of Government Examination, Tamil Nadu on Wednesday declared the results of the Tamil Nadu Class 10 Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination exactly at the shceduled time i.e. on May 25 at 09:30 am.
As per the reports, this year’s overall pass percentage is 93.6 per cent.
According to media reports, two students have shared the first rank by scoring 499 while 50 students scored 498 and 150 students scored 497.
R. Sivakumar, a student of Noble Matric Higher Secondary School, Virudhunagar and Prema Sudha, a student of Excel Matric Higher Secondary School in Rasipuram, Namakkal bagged the State first ranks with a total of 499 marks.
Of the 10.11 lakh candidates who appeared for the examinations from schools in the State, over 7.33 lakh students secured a 60 per cent and above aggregate. Last year, 7.96 lakh candidates had managed to score above 60 per cent.
The number of centums in maths, science and social science too saw a dip. While 1.15 lakh students had scored centums in science in 2015, only 18,642 students had scored a centum in the subject this year.
Earlier, in a statement posted on the results website, Directorate of Government Examinations, Government of Tamil Nadu has said the results of Tamil Nadu Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) 2016 Exams are likely to be declared on Wednesday May 25, 2016.
"SSLC Examination Results expcted on 25th May 2016 at 09.31 Hrs", Directorate of Government Examinations, Government of Tamil Nadu said in the statement.
After declaration, the SSLC or Class X exam results 2016 is available on the official website "tnresults.nic.in" of Tamil Nadu state board of secondary education.
Tamil Nadu SSLC 2016 or Class 10 Results can also be downloaded from www.dge1.tn.nic.in, www.dge2.tn.nic.in.
Students are requested to keep all their necessary board exam details ready such as the official roll number, candidate name and Date of birth handy.
Follow the simple steps provided below to easily access their Tamil Nadu class 12th board result 2016

- Click on TN Board SSLC Results 2016.
- Enter and submit your name, roll number and date of birth.
- Check your class SSLC results once it appears on the screen.
- Download and then take a printout of the same.
Students also can know their results in their schools, district collector’s offices and all central and branch libraries at free of cost.
Those who wants to apply for e-totalling of their answer sheets can do from May 25 to May 28 through their schools.
Students can also download the provisional mark sheets from the www.dge.tn.nic.in website from June 1.
Over 11 lakh students appeared for the exam conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination (TNBSE) from March 15 to April 13.
The Tamil Nadu board has already declared results of Class 12 or Plus 2 or +2 exam 2016 on May 17, 2016.
The Government of Tamil Nadu have constituted a new Board for School Examination viz "Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination" by merging the existing two separate boards (1) Board of Secondary Education and (2) Board of Higher Secondary Examinations.
