CBSE NEET website active, Apply online for NEET Phase 2 before June 21

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) finally made active the website to accept online applications for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) Phase II to be held on July 24, 2016.

The CBSE has also published on the website aipmt.nic.in all relevant details including Pattern of Test, Eligibility Criteria, Start and Last date of receiving online application forms etc.

According to the details on the CBSE NEET website, candidates can apply for July 24 NEET-II till midnight on June 21, 2016.

Exam fee should be sent through e-challan and other e-mode, the CBSE said.

The NEET-II will consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer)from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The duration of paper would be 03 hours from 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.

The CBSE also said that the All India merit list and All India Rank of the qualified candidates will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Eligibility - cum Entrance Test (NEET) and candidates will be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses from the said list only by following the Existing Reservation Policies.

Earlier, hundreds of students who are aspiring for the lucrative medical field woke up today morning to learn that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will start accepting online application for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) Phase II from today. However, when they visited the website, they found it dead.

"I visited the CBSE AIPMT website today morning for online registration. But, the website, gives a message, "Coming Shortly. Please Try again after some time", Suhana Ansari, a student, said.

ummid.com visited the website at around 03:00 pm and found the website flashing the same message. Visiting the CBSE main website also does npt yield in any information about the NEET Phase 2 registration portal.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had issued a statement earlier on Wednesday stating that it will start the process of online application for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-II (UG) from Thursday for admission to medical and dental courses. The exam will be held on July 24.

“The test will be applicable for admissions to the All India quota seats, State Government Quota seats where the state government concerned so opts and Private/Management/NRI Quota seats in all Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University,” CBSE said in the official statement.

“The detailed information regarding test, syllabus and eligibility criteria will be available on the website www.aipmt.nic.in,” the statement said.

The CBSE is also launching a dedicated portal for the NEET registration and assistance to provide related information.

It said that as per the directions of the Supreme Court, left out candidates who could not register or appear in NEET-I or those having the apprehension that they had not prepared well, subject to submission of an undertaking to give up their candidature for NEET-I, can apply in NEET-II.

President Pranab Mukherjee earlier on May 24 gave his consent to two ordinances which exempted state government medical and dental colleges from NEET.

The states now have the option of either conducting their own exam or be part of the NEET to fill 85 per cent of the Under Graduate medical and dental seats. 15 per cent of the remaining seats will be filled through NEET by all India counselling.
