Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan and his Direcor, producer wife Kiran Rao on Sunday skipped an event in Pune saying the couple has contarcted the H1N1 virus, also known as Swine Flu, and will remain in quarantine for at least a week.
Aamir Khan was supposed to attend the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup Awards on Sunday, which was also attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Nita Ambani and Shah Rukh Khan..
“We are very sad to inform you,” said Aamir in via a video message, seated beside his wife Kiran Rao, “that after working so hard for a year, when the time came for us to celebrate, this illness, which spreads rapidly, has forced us to stay at home for a week.”
Film critic Anupama Chopra, who was present at the event, shared the news on Twitter.

Swine flu, caused by the H1N1 influenza virus, has claimed more than 250 lives in Maharashtra since January, PTI reported.
