Mumbai: Even though the Maharashtra Junior College Teachers’ Association has called off its stir and has also promised to handover the answer sheets of the students, suspense over Maharashtra Class 12 HSC 2018 result declaration ceases to end.
The Maharashtra HSC Class 12 exams began on February 21 and ended on March 20. However, the Maharashtra education board found itself in trouble when the state junior college teachers refused to assess and evaluate the answer sheets of the students. The teachers associated with Maharashtra Junior College Teachers’ Association asked the government to fulfill their demands before engaging them for paper assessment. The teachers later blinked and started assessing the answer sheets, though advising the teachers not to handover them to the board unless their demands are met.
However, after a series of meetings with the government officials and ministers, the last one with Education Minister Vinod Tawde held on April 09, the Maharashtra Junior College Teachers’ Association called off their stir and agreed to handover about 87 lakh copies of the students to the board so that the result could be processed. According to the reports, the teachers promised that all the answer books of the students will be handed over to the board by a maximum of Thursday April 13, 2018.
Against these reports students and parents are worries if the Maharashtra Class 12 HSC 2018 result will be declared in time. Class 12 and HSC result is important as it is the minimum eligibility requirement for admission to higher and professional courses. Any delay in the result hence is likely to disturb the entire future academic activities of the class 12 students. The Junior College teachers while refusing to assess answer sheets unless the government fulfilled their demands said they are not against students and that their fight is with the government.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is confident that the Maharashtra HSC 2018 result will be declared in time. “We are hundred percent sure that the result will be processed and declared in time. There is not at all any threat to the students’ career”, a board official said.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) normally declare the HSC Class 12 result by June 15. The admission process for higher education and other professional courses immediately starts after HSC Class 12 result declaration.
The Highre Secondary Certificate Examination (HSC) is conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) during the month of February and March through its nine Divisional Boards, which are primarily located at Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur, Nagpu, Amravati and Ratnagiri.
Interestingly, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is only among the few boards in the country which declares its results so late. Talking of other boards, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have already declared Class 12 results 2018. Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states where number of students appearing in state board exams are much larger than Maharashtra have all planned to declared their results by the last week of May.
