New Delhi: Securing All India Rank AIR 1, Telangana boy Bhogi Suraj Krishna is India topper of JEE Main 2018. Bhoj Suraj Krishna from Vijayawada in Telangana has scored 350 out of the total 360 marks in JEE Main 2018.

KVR Hemant Kumar Chodipilli, who is from Andhra Pradesh, has come 2nd and Parth Laturia from Nander in Maharashtra holds AIR 3 i.e. 3rd position, according to the result of JEE Main 2018 announced by the CBSE today evening. Parth is student of Allen Coaching Centre of Kota

Further result details showed, Pranav Goyal of Haryana bagging All India Rank (AIR) 4 whereas Simarpreet Kaur Saluja of Delhi has grabbed AIR 9 position. Simarpeet has scored 345/ 360 marks in the JEE Main 2018.

The CBSE said six candidates have secured 350 marks but have been ranked in gradation. CBSE had notified about the ranking procedure for tie up cases in the official notification of the exam.

Likewise, 03 candidates have secured 345 marks. Among the 10 JEE Main 2018 topper are 03 each from Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan, 01 each from Delhi, Haryana and Maharashra besides Bhogi Suraj Krishna who is from Telangana.

Others among JEE Main top 10 are Bhaskar Arun Gupta (AIR 7) and Gattu Mytraya of Telangana (AIR 5). Bhaskar was born in Mumbai but his parents belong to Jaipur (Rajasthan).

JEE Main 2018 cut off

According to the CBSE JEE Main result data, the cut-off in 2018 for the General Category is 74 whereas for OBC/NCL category, the cut-off is 45, for SC the cut off is 29, for ST it is 34 and for PWD the JEE Main 2018 cut off is 35.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2018 (JEE Main 2018) and All India Rank (AIR) List based on the Paper 1 score today i.e. Monday April 30. The JEE Main results can be accessed on cbseresults.nic.in or jeemain.nic.in.

Students should note that the CBSE has added special link on the JEE Main website homepage for checking the JEE Main 2018 result and All India Rank list based on JEE Main Paper 1 score. JEE Main AIR Paper 2 will be released on May 31.

How To Check JEE Main 2018 Result

The JEE Main 2018 result is accessible at www.jeemain.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in. Candidates can follow simple instructions given below to download their JEE Main score. The JEE Main result can also be accessed on cbseresults.nic.in.

The Information Bulletin has earlier said that the results and score of JEE Main Paper 1 and All India Rank (AIR) of top 22,000 candidates eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced will be declared on April 30, 2018. The CBSE will however declare the All India Rank (AIR) of JEE (Main) Paper – 2 on May 31, 2018.

The All-India Rank is used for admissions to National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Centrally Funded Technical Institute (CFTI), Self-Financed Institutes (SFIs), and other institutes.

Students will be ranked on the basis of their JEE Mains 2018 score and there will be no weightage for Class 12 marks, unlike last year. "There shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination", the CBSE said.

A total of 10,43,739 students appeared for JEE Main 2108 held on Sunday April 08 at 1621 exam centers in 112 cities, including 08 in abroad. Reacting on Twitter, most of the students had said JEE Main this year was tough, though some termed the exam of medium difficulty level. JEE Main held on April 08 was pen and paper based and in offline mode. The JEE Main 2018 online mode was held on April 15 and 16, 2018.

In 2017, the JEE Main cut off was 81 for General Category, while the cut offs for the OBC, SC and ST categories was at 49, 32 and 27 respectively.

From this year onwards, the IITs have decided to reserve seats for female candidates. As per reports, 779 reserve seats will be allocated in various IITs for female engineering candidates. IIT Kharagpur has 113 seats, IIT Dhanbad- 95 seats, IIT Kanpur- 79 seats, IIT BHU- 76, IIT Roorkee- 68, IIT Delhi- 59, IIT Bombay- 58, IIT Guwahati- 57.

Students should note that the registration process for JEE Advanced 2018 will start from May 2 and the exam will be held on May 20. "For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced) / JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination", the CBSE said.
