The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had conducted Class 12th Compartment exam 2018 on July 16 (single day all subjects) whereas Class 10th Compartment Exam 2018 was started along with Class 12th on July 16, but ended on July 24, 2018. All papers were held in the morning session.

The CBSE declared the Class X 2018 results on May 29. The CBSE Class XII results 2018 were declared on May 26, 2018. Out of 11.06 students who appeared for the 2018 Class 12 exams, a total of 9,18,762 candidates have passed the CBSE 12th exam. Likewise, in CBSE Class 10th 2018 exam, the overall pass percentage was 86.70 per cent.

Though the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has in itself not confirmed any specific date to declare the Class 10th Compartment or Improvement July 2018 Exams, sources said the board will announce the CBSE 10th Compartment Result 2018 in the 3rd week of August.

In 2017, the Class 12h Compartment Exam result was declared on August 09 whereas Class 10th Compartment/Improvement exam result was announced on August 17, 2017. It is against this backdrop, it is most likely that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare the Compartmental results around these dates.

The CBSE provides students a maximum of 5 chance to clear the exam before a student is marked as Failed. In such a case a student has to readmit in previous class again.

The CBSE conducts Compartmental or Supplementary exams for Class XII and Class X every year for the candidates who are failed or have got E1/E2 grade in the annual examination conducted in the month of February/March.

As per the CBSE rules, a candidate failing in one of the five subjects of external examination is placed in Compartment in that subject provided he or she qualifies in all the subjects of internal assessment.

A candidate placed in Compartment examination may reappear at the Compartmental examination held in July the same year, may avail second chance in March/April and third chance in July of next year.

The candidate will be declared ‘PASS’ provided he or she qualifies the compartmental subjects in which she had failed. Syllabi and Courses are the same as applicable for the candidates of full subjects appearing at the examination in the year concerned.

A candidate who fails to appear or fails at one or all the chances of the Compartment examination is treated to have failed in the examination and is required to reappear in all the subjects at the subsequent annual examination of the Board as per syllabi and courses laid down for the examination concerned in order to pass the examination.

The candidates’ practical marks/internal assessment marks obtained in the Main examination will be carried over till the third chance compartmental examination.
