
New Delhi: Elections for the office bearers of Delhi University's Student Union (DUSU) will be held on September 12, said an official statement from the institution.
As per the notification issued by the Registrar of the University, the last date for submission of nomination papers, along with demand draft of Rs.500 and affidavit is September 4, according to ANI.
Scrutiny of nomination papers and publication of the list of duly nominated candidates will also be done on the same day, the University said.
The last date for withdrawal of nomination is September 5, and the final list of candidates will be published on the same day.
However, the date of counting of votes and declaration of results has not been announced.
In DUSU 2017 election, Congress backed National Students Union of India (NSUI) had won 03 posts, including the crucial the post of President in the election result of which was announced on September 13, 2017.
RSS affiliate Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) managed to bag the Secreatary post in the 2017 elections. In 2016 DUSU Polls, while ABVP had won the post of president, vice president and secretary, Congress’ students’ union NSUI was elected to the post of joint secretary.
