New Delhi: Congress is set for a clear victory in Rajasthan whereas it is in a close contest with the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the Exit Poll results released after voting ended in these states said Friday.
The Exit Poll however prediced that KCR's TRS will retain power in Telangana and Congress might lose power in Mizoram.
According to India Today Axis My India poll, Congress is likely to win 119-141 seats in Rajasthan whereas the ruling BJP is struggling at 55-72 seats. Rajasthan assembly has a total of 200 members.
News Nation is predicting that Congress is winning 99-103 seats in Rajasthan and BJP might end with just 89-93 seats. On the other hand, Times Now is giving Congress 105 seats and BJP a total of 85 seats.
In Madhya Pradesh, exit poll results show a neck and neck battle between Congress and the ruling BJP. According to India Today Axis My India poll, Congress is likely to win 104 to 122 seats in Madhya Pradesh whereas the ruling BJP isclose second at 102-120 seats. Madhya Pradesh assembly has a total of 230 members and halfway mark is 116.
India News MP NETA is predicting that Congress will win 112 seats in Madhya Pradesh and BJP might end with 106 seats. On the other hand, Times Now CNX is giving Congress 89 seats and BJP a total of 126 seats.
In Chhattisgarh too pollsters are predicting a close fight between Congress and BJP. According to India Today Axis My India poll Exit Poll, Congress will win 55-65 seats in Chhattisgarh and BJP 21-31. But, Times Now CNX said BJP will win 46 seats and Congress just 35. Chhattisgarh assembly has a total of 90 seats and 46 is needed to form a government.
In Telangana, exit polls show TRS getting 69 of the state's 119 assembly seats. The Congress-Chandrababu Naidu combine will get 37 seats and the BJP four seats, according to the average of 05 leading Exit Polls. The halfway mark in Telangana is 61.
Mizoram, one of the four states where the Congress is still in power, will vote out the Congress but end up with a split verdict, according to exit polls. Pollsters predicted that Congress will only 16 seats in the 40-member Mizoram assembly. The MNF will get 18 seats. The BJP is unlikely to win any seat in this NE state.
