Mumbai/Hyderabad: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray on Monday accused the ruling Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) of colluding with Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi to instigate communal riots to win the 2019 polls and retain power in New Delhi.
"There is a conspiracy to instigate riots in the country by colluding with (Asaduddin) Owaisi. This government is left with nothing to say and so plans are afoot to polarize voters by instigating riots between Hindus and Muslims. They have no other option left (except this)," Raj Thackeray said while addressing a rally in Vikhroli in Mumbai suburbs.
Raj Thackeray's comments came amidst communal remarks being openly made by the BJP and AIMIM leaders against each other during the rallies in Telangana. State elections are due in Telangana on December 07 whereas counting of votes will be done on December 11.
While addressing a rally in Telangana Sunday, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that if BJP came to power in the state, Owaisi will have to flee the country just like Nizam. Owaisi hit back saying, ""India is my father's country. Nobody can force me to leave it."
On the other hand, Akbaruddin Owaisi, younger brother of Asaduddin Owaisi, trained his guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Today you are competing with us, what did you (Narendra Modi) do during demonetisation? You were only talking about this chai, that chai, hard tea ( kadak chai), soft tea ( naram chai), kettle and tea powder,” he said while addressing a rally, recalling Modi’s statement during demonetization.
“What did Modi sacrifice? Nizam Sarkar’s palace, a Rolls-Royce or wealth? He only sacrificed a kettle and tea box", he added.
“You were a chaiwala. Now, you are the Prime Minister, so behave like one,” the AIMIM leader said.
The Congress meanwhile alleged that the ruling TRS, AIMIM and BJP all three parties have a secret pact to divide voters and win the election.
"TRS is the BJP's "B" team and KCR operates as Mr Modi's Telangana Rubber Stamp", Congress chief Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter.
"Owaisi's AIMIM is the BJP's "C" team, whose role is to split the anti BJP/KCR vote. Great people of Telangana, Modi, KCR & Owaisi are one. They speak in twisted tongues. Do not be fooled by them!", he added.
