Bhopal: A class 11 student of the Government Senior Secondary Girls School in Kotma, Anuppur district Madhya Pradesh was beheaded with a sword by by an unidentified man on Thursday, police said.
The girl student of Science stream identified as Pooja Panika was entering the school to appear for Biology practical exam when she was attacked by the man who fled from the spot after the brutal murder. The girl was attacked on the back and neck with a sword. Before anyone could come to her rescue her head was severed and she was dead.
Police have seized the sword and registered a murder case against the unidentified assailant.
Meanwhile, the parents of the victim have named Dalip Sahu, a known offender of the area as a suspect. Sahu was stalking the victim and a complaint to this effect was lodged by them against him about sometimes back.
“In 2014, the girl had filed a complaint against Dilip and a criminal investigation was done on the matter,” police officer Vijay Singh told ANI.
