Pune: 39-year-old software engineer Neville Bomi Battiwala was beaten to death by three persons early on Saturday after he objected to vehicles being parked outside the gate of his bungalow in Lulla Nagar in Pune.
Kondhwa police have arrested three persons – Shriganesh Jaywantrao Raskar (31), Yogesh Dinu Kadwe (22) and Vikram Lakshman Bhombe (31) — for the crime.
A senior police officer of Kondhwa police station said that Raskar runs a transport business, and his driver used to park the vehicles in front of the gate of Battiwala's bungalow.
"Battiwala often objected to it. On Friday night, the deceased had another argument with Raskar over the issue that led to the scuffle," said the officer.
NB Battiwalla lived in Sahani Park with his mother and had moved back to India a couple of years ago, after working abroad for a long time.
He was attacked just outside his bungalow and he died on the spot.
A security guard of a nearby building described the victim as a friendly and loving person. “We used to see him strolling in lane number three,” the guard said.
A relative of the victim said his funeral will be performed after his mother reaches Pune from Mumbai.
